Tyler was great to work with and did a great job. We moved from out of state and wanted to start work right away when we purchased the house. He worked with us to do a virtual walk through, pick materials and everything. Super great team, finished the job when they said they would. Would definitely recommend 🤙🏼 Update: 2 yrs later - Tyler has helped me with flooring in another property and has done an amazing job again. Super helpful and understanding - I was up against a tight deadline and he did his best to get everything done in time. Would definitely still recommend!

Knowledgeable, easy to work with, professional, reasonably priced. We can't say enough about how happy we are with our floor. We had them replace the ancient carpet in our basement with gorgeous LVP. They also replaced the old carpet in several rooms and our stairs with new carpet. We discovered Trademark through local referrals from folks in our neighborhood. I'd use them again in a second. If you're in the Salt Lake area and need new flooring, then check out these guys.

I had an absolutely outstanding experience working with Trademark Flooring. From start to finish, they were reliable communicative, and consistently followed through on everything they promised. What really stood out was when they went above and beyond, helping me with things outside the scope of the flooring project just to make sure everything came together smoothly. The hardwood floors turned out gorgeous, better than I imagined. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience, and I highly recommend them to anyone looking for quality work and exceptional service.

From start to finish, my experience with Tyler and his crew from Trademark Flooring has been nothing short of phenomenal. Tyler was very responsive, he and his crew showed up on time, and delivered professional results at a fair price. They went the extra mile throughout the whole install of our floors and we couldn't be happier. This is truly a well deserved 5 star review. They went above expectations ensure things were done correctly and made necessary adjustments when needed. Thank you Tyler, Estevan, and crew for making it feel like a beautiful home again.

I highly recommend Trademark flooring for anyone doing hardwood. Tyler and his crew were excellent. They delivered on every promise and my floor looks absolutely stunning. I’m extremely picky and these guys exceeded my expectations. I don’t leave reviews but I felt compelled to leave this one after such a positive experience.

We love trademark flooring. Tyler was so responsive, and got our flooring needs taken care of quickly. He helped us choose affordable flooring for our rental, and didn’t try to sell us product we didn’t need. If you are looking for a trustworthy and affordable company, this is it!

Tyler is by far one of the best flooring reps I've worked with. He communicates thoroughly and always make sure that details are ironed out before jumping in. He is very fair when it comes to pricing and always delivers on time and finishes on time. Even if there are hiccups that happen, he handles them swiftly and efficiently. I cannot recommend him enough. There is a reason for all of his five star reviews. Save yourself the time and give him a call so you can see for yourself.

Engineered Hardwood Flooring

What Makes Engineered Hardwood Different
Engineered hardwood is constructed from multiple layers of wood bonded together under heat and pressure. The top layer is real hardwood, the same species and grain you'd find in solid planks. Beneath it, the core layers alternate in direction, which gives the board significantly more resistance to expansion and contraction.
That structural stability is the key distinction. Solid hardwood moves with changes in temperature and humidity, which limits where it can be installed. Engineered hardwood handles those shifts much better, opening up areas like basements, kitchens, and rooms built on concrete slabs where solid hardwood isn't a reliable option.
The surface you see and walk on is 100% real wood. The difference is underneath.

Is Engineered Hardwood Right for Your Home?
Engineered hardwood tends to be a strong fit for homeowners who:
-
Want the look and feel of real wood without the limitations of solid hardwood
-
Are finishing a basement or installing over a concrete subfloor
-
Live in a home with radiant heat systems
-
Are looking for a floor that handles Utah's dry climate and seasonal humidity changes more predictably
-
Want a wide plank style that can be harder to achieve with solid hardwood
It's also a popular choice for open-concept layouts where the flooring runs continuously from one room to another, since it installs smoothly across different subfloor types without requiring transitions.

Engineered Hardwood Flooring Species, Styles & Finishes
Engineered hardwood comes in the same wood species as solid hardwood. Oak is the most common, but you'll also find hickory, maple, walnut, and others depending on the look you're going for.
Beyond species, there are several decisions that shape the final appearance:
Plank width: Wider planks give a more modern, open feel. Narrower planks tend to read as more traditional. Engineered construction makes wide-plank styles more dimensionally stable than their solid counterparts.
Finish: Floors come pre-finished from the factory or can be site-finished after installation. Pre-finished options are ready to walk on immediately and are consistent in quality. Site-finished floors allow for more customization in sheen and color.
Texture: Smooth, hand-scraped, wire-brushed, and distressed textures each create a different character. Textured options are especially good at hiding minor scratches over time.
Stain color: From light natural tones to deep charcoals and everything in between, the stain makes a significant impact on how a room feels. Our team can help you work through samples to find the right direction.

Engineered Hardwood Care & Maintenance
Sweep or dry mop regularly to remove grit that can scratch the surface
Use a hardwood-specific cleaner for deeper cleaning, avoid steam mops or excessive water
Place felt pads under furniture legs and use area rugs in high-traffic zones
Keep indoor humidity levels consistent, ideally between 35% and 55%, which is especially relevant during Utah winters when indoor air gets very dry
